Whenever we immerse ourselves in an endeavor, we tend to test our boundaries. However, there are moments when we feel adrift. It's important to recognize that our actions don't define our identity. Recently, I found myself identifying as a writer, and I encountered difficulties as a result of embracing this label. It seems that when others assign you a specific role, it can feel confining and restrictive.
I needed to take a break from my usual routine of studying and writing to reassess my identity. Despite what others may have said about me, I had to see for myself if it rang true. However, deep down, I couldn't convince myself of this new image.
So, I returned to my previous projects. It was during this time that I realized that everything I had been working on ultimately brought me back to my original self. With that said, I deeply apologize to those who may have been disappointed by my output, but it's important to remember that I am only human and I give priority to my well-being. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?
The inner workings of the mind create a complex tapestry of our perceived identity, encompassing our worries, aspirations, and reflections on the past. It is not uncommon for a sense of entitlement to take root, with thoughts such as "I have experienced this, so I surely deserve that" or its converse "I have never achieved this, so I will never become that" gaining traction within our minds.
In the midst of turmoil, hardship, and the chaos caused by life's challenges, we often overlook the fundamental question of "Who am I, really?" When I look at my past memories and contemplate my future potential, can I truly claim to know who I am in the present? It is a puzzling question, for I am not flawless, and I reject the notion of being confined by labels and societal roles.
I don't want anyone who visits my page to be imprisoned by a title that doesn't reflect their true potential. You are defined by what's inside you, your thoughts, and your dreams. Ignore others' opinions. You are more than your past experiences; you are everything that fuels your passion at night. Discover what makes you jump out of bed in the morning.
In his book, "From-Darkness-to-Light," Jiddu Krishnamurti put it this way, Like a dead leaf that is crushed by many a foot, have I suffered within this cruel and gruesome abode of the flesh, poor and dirty, without love and without hate, with complete indifference as to sorrow or pain, void of intelligence, famished and thirsty, all the glorious emotions that once kindled my heart dead for many an age.
I'm focused on achieving my goals and the initial strategy that came to mind was pursuing a career in financial advising to make my dreams a reality. It turned out that I wasn't very good at it, and I absolutely loathed the work. Having to deal with individuals who were clueless about handling their finances left me feeling disheartened. That's when I decided to pivot and explore the world of writing.
Writing became my lifeline, a way to express the depths of my emotions and navigate the complexities of my thoughts. Through my words, I found solace and a sense of purpose. Each sentence I penned felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders, a release of pent-up emotions and a way to connect with my innermost self.
I discovered that through writing, I could create worlds where I was in control, and where I could find peace and understanding. I found freedom in the ability to pour my heart out onto the pages, lay bare my soul, and confront my inner demons. Writing became my sanctuary, a safe haven where I could explore the depths of my being without fear of judgment or criticism.
As if it were just a flickering flame in the vast emptiness of the world. The words I penned felt hollow and meaningless, devoid of any true resonance or impact. But as I delved deeper into the depths of my soul, I realized that my passion for writing was not to be underestimated. It was a powerful force, a beacon of light in the shadows, a source of strength and inspiration in the face of adversity.
I discovered that my words had the power to move hearts, to spark creativity, and to bring comfort and solace to those in need. My writing was a reflection of my innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences, a testament to my existence and my place in the world.
And so, from the heart of darkness, arose a newfound sense of purpose and meaning in my writing. I embraced my passion with renewed fervor and determination, knowing that my words had the potential to make a difference, to touch lives, to leave a lasting impact on the world.
More in, I have realized that my writing was not just a frivolous pastime, but a calling, a vocation, a gift to be cherished and nurtured. And from that moment on, I vowed never to underestimate the power of my passion for writing again.
There are instances where it may seem impossible to avoid failure. If those around you are envious and wish ill upon you; they may set you up for failure. Their intention is not for you to succeed but rather for you to stumble and be made a mockery of. However, if you remember your identity in God, similar to how King David did, you will experience a new level of spiritual growth being revealed to you. It's like approaching the doors of a grocery store — as you draw near, they open up before you.
David faced many enemies who sought his downfall, but he always remembered that his identity and strength came from his relationship with God. In Psalm 27, he declared, "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?" With this mindset, David was able to overcome his enemies and achieve great success.
Similarly, when you encounter difficulties and challenges, keep in mind that your identity is rooted in God. Trust in His strength and guidance, and you will find the courage and perseverance to overcome any obstacle that comes your way. As you walk in faith and obedience to God, doors of opportunity and blessing will open before you, leading you to greater spiritual growth and success.
So, do not allow the envy and negativity of those around you to bring you down. Stay connected to God, who is your source of strength and provision. With Him by your side, you can face any situation with confidence and overcome all obstacles in your path. Trust in Him, and you will see doors of opportunity and blessing open before you, leading you to new levels of spiritual growth and success.
Remember that what God says about you is the true image you need to keep in front of you. Your past, how you were raised, or what didn't work out does not shape your identity. Your Creator defined you. When you look in the mirror of God’s Word, you’ll see that you are valuable, talented, confident, favored, blessed, and worthy. You have to see it on the inside before it will happen on the outside.
It's time to start seeing yourself in a whole new light! Picture yourself as free, forgiven, and redeemed. Envision yourself as blessed, prosperous, and showered with favor. As you change the way you view yourself, you'll begin to heal and rebuild your self-image, leaving behind any feelings of inadequacy and unworthiness. It might not happen overnight, but with consistent positive visualization, you'll transform into the incredible person you're visualizing. Let's catch up on this in 90 days and celebrate your progress!
Good Luck!
